Foxrock

Situated between the sea at Dún Laoghaire and the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, is a leafy suburb approximately 12 km from Dublin city.

The area has a rich history ranging from Neolithic Dolmens, ancient churches, castles, crosses, Rathdown Slabs and modern buildings of historical interest.
Foxrock Local History Club,  active for more than thirty years, has more than 70 publications including pamphlets and books covering a wide range of local history topics.

We hold public meetings from September to May giving  a short presentation usually 20 to 30 minutes and a longer presentation of approximately an hour. We try to have plenty of visual material in our presentations.

Our meetings take place in Foxrock Pastoral Centre, a beautiful modern and very comfortable facility. The centre is equipped with a hearing loop system, comfortable chairs underfloor heating and an excellent digital projector and screen.

We finish our meetings with a cup of tea and biscuits and an opportunity for informal discussion.

We arrange two short (usually evening) outings in May and one all day coach trip in June
